The kiddos are preparing for their field trip today to the Sun Mountain Fun Center! While this was supposed to be our last week of summer camp, we have extended it through the 18th.

Next week they will be heading over to meet with the Redmond Smokejumpers, and hopefully (fingers crossed!) Three Creeks Lake. You can register your kids for the whole week online at sistersrecreation.com, or you can give us a call and register them for a day at 541-549-2091!

We'd like to thank everyone who made this summer special for the kids of Sisters, they had a BLAST! Who's ready for the Luau tomorrow?

We have a very special guest this year, guitar & piano player Michael Dane! He's been a headliner on the coast for the last 35 years, 15 years at Salishan Resort and 20 at Gracie's Sea Hag in Depoe Bay. This is his first time here in Sisters with us!

This year's event will be dedicated to the late Roland "Boz" Cazimero whom we lost on July 16th. He and his brother Robert were essential in the evolution of Modern Hawaiian Music, and the cornerstone of the Hawaiian music scene for over 40 years. They won 25 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, Hawaii's version of the Grammy's. You will hear the Brothers Cazimero music throughout the luau.

Come early, bring a chair and blanket, and grab your spot on the lawn. Food will be served starting at 5:30pm with entertainment at 6. We can't wait to see you!

Have you ever wanted to sharpen your photography skills? Starting tomorrow, our Photography for Everybody course will help you do just that!

Instructor Jeff Omodt will explore the building blocks and concepts of making better pictures using your own camera, whether it's an iphone or DSLR.

Each meeting will have a skill or technique to explore and develop, then a homework assignment to go out and try. No previous experience is necessary!

This 5 week class runs every Wednesday from 11:30 to 1, here at SPRD, August 9th to September 6th, total cost is $50.

Register today by giving us a call at 541-549-2091!

Have you had a chance to purchase your Luau tickets yet? It's only a week away!

Keep your eyes peeled for The Nugget Newspaper next Wednesday. We've partnered with Sisters Habitat for Humanity and their thrift store ad will include a discount on Hawaiian gear so you can look the part while attending the festivities!

You can purchase tickets three ways: give us a call at 541-549-2091, stop by our building at 1750 W McKinney Butte Road (next door to the high school), or create an account on sistersrecreation.com and look under Community Events.

We can't wait to see you there!
