Progress Update

Sisters Park & Recreation District (SPRD) is excited to enter into a long-term lease with Sisters School District to repurpose the current Sisters Elementary School to be a multi-use recreation center. So far the district has completed a building feasibility study and an outside conceptual design. SPRD is currently in the process of working with an architect for the minor remodel of the indoor space that is needed so we can maximize the use of the facility. Ideally, this project will go out to bid by mid-spring.  The hope is that the indoor construction will occur between July-December so that all operations can move over to the new site by January 2025.

Outside Conceptual Design

The district recently finished work with Dougherty Landscape Architects (DLA) to create a conceptual design for the outdoor space. This process included two community engagement nights and an online survey. Feedback received through the community engagement process, in addition to previous studies done by the district and community partners, informed the amenities that are included in the design.  It is key to remember that this design is a concept and is subject to change as the district proceeds into the next stages of the process. The district is currently working on securing funding for this project. Click here to see the design.
