Progress Update
Sisters Park & Recreation District (SPRD) is excited to enter into a long-term lease with Sisters School District to repurpose the current Sisters Elementary School to be a multi-use recreation center. The district is currently doing some small renovations to the facility and hope to open up the site to the public in early 2025.
Community Park
The district finished work with Dougherty Landscape Architects (DLA) in the spring of 2024 to create a conceptual design for the outdoor space. This process included three community engagement nights and an online survey. Feedback received through the community engagement process, in addition to previous studies done by the district and community partners, informed the amenities that are included in the design. It is key to remember that this design is a concept and is subject to refinement as the district proceeds into the next stages of the process. The district was awarded a Local Government Grant Program grant in the fall of 2024 to fund this project. See design at the top of the webpage.
