Restorative Yoga classes move at a slower, more relaxed pace than Hatha or Flow Yoga classes and are done mostly lying on the mat. Props are used – bolsters, blocks, blankets and straps. Poses are held through several breath cycles. Emphasis is on stretching and bringing oxygen to muscles, joints, connective tissue and organs using gravity, breath and awareness. Yoga is always about moving from the outer to our inner world – the mind/body connection.
