We’ve extended our hours this year due to popular request! Our camps will now run from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. making it even easier for you to get to work on time, enjoy a none rushed morning and have your child get even more time with their friends!

Week 1 | June 19 – June 23 | Aloha Week

Field Trip: The Big Play Thing at Cascade Indoor Sports

Water Trip: Madras Pool

To kick off summer camps, Shannon Rackowski  will teach the kids Hawaiian language, Hula and Tahitian Dancing. Thursday campers will visit The Big Play Thing and Friday they will go to the Madras pool.

 

Week 2 | June 26 – June 30 | Treasure Hunting Week

Field Trip: Sisters City Scavenger Hunt & Nature Scavenger Hunt

Search for hidden treasure throughout Sisters during this week of camp! We’ll be going on scavenger hunts to local Sisters businesses along with a Nature Scavenger Hunt. We’ll solve riddles to find our next adventure! Friday, plan on swimming at Juniper Pool.

 

Week 3 | July 3 – July 7 | Independence Week

*no Adventure Camp on Tuesday, July 4. Reduced pricing this week only as result.

Field Trip: Black Butte Police Station & Sisters Fire Department.

No camp on Tuesday, July 4 but plan on an exciting week Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday visiting the BBR Police Department Tuesday, the Sisters Fire Department Thursday. We’ll be in Sisters for our water day!

 

Week 4 | July 10 – July 14 | Science Week

Science experiments abound this week. We’ll be making ice cream from scratch, building solar ovens, making lava lamps, and more! Our field trip will be to the High Desert Museum, and we will spend a day in Sisters at the Fir Street Park splash pad and our own slip and slide!

 

Week 5 | July 17 – July 21 | Globe Trotters Week

Field Trip: Chimps Inc.

Globe Trotters is a week of culture for our Adventure Camp kids! Expect to learn about Kenyan culture from High School Athletic Director Gary Thorson and Hawaiian culture from our very own Shannon Rackowski! The Chimps Inc. field trip will be on Thursday, and the water day on Friday, kids will go to the Juniper Pool.

Explore the ocean and freshwater during this week of camp. Kids can expect to have a variety of crafts and projects related to aquatic life, and on Thursday. We’ll take a visit to the Wizard Falls Fish Hatchery. Friday we have water day in Sisters at local water features!

 

Week 8 | August 7 – August 11 |  Olympics

The Opening Ceremony for the Adventure Camp Olympic week will be this Monday. Let’s have fun playing outlandish and wacky camp games along with traditional Olympic games this week. On Thursday, we are off to Sun Mountain Fun Center for bowling and mini-golf, and we will have our final BBQ on Friday afternoon at SPRD. Parents are welcome to join in the festivities!

Survival Camp

Learn how to take care of yourself out in the wilderness by signing up for Survival Camp. Kids will learn practical skills like rope tying, fire starting, building shelters, first aid, orienteering, traps and more. This course is ideal for those of us who enjoy camping, hiking, hunting, and spending time in the outdoors. This class is taught by survivalist Dan Coyle from the Corvallis area and who teaches for park and recreation districts across Oregon.

Steve Pearl, an 8 time national basketball champion in England, and has coached junior national teams in international competition. Coach Pearl is widely respected as one of Britain’s top coaches.  This summer he is again hosting a basketball camp for youths in Central Oregon. Many of Coach Perl’s former players have played D1 & D2 NCAA basketball. This is a great opportunity to learn the game of basketball from a National Champion Coach.

Tennis Camps

This program will teach beginners, intermediates, and advanced level players technique for the game of tennis. Bim Gander, the SHS boys’ tennis coach, will cover scoring and all of the essential tennis strokes. All participants should have tennis shoes and a racquet, if possible. A limited number of racquets can be supplied if the request is made when you register. Sign up for all three camps and get $10 off the third camp.

PGA Junior Sports Academy

Junior Golfers – Come out and join our PGA Sports Academy! We will focus not only on golf, but nutrition, sportsmanship and other healthy, fun activities. FUN-First is out mantra for juniors. We feel strongly that golf should be fun and interactive. Though our goal is to educate our junior golfers and get them excited about the game, keeping the game fun is our primary focus.

* The Academy will be for junior golfers who are new to the game or have played very little in the past.

The Academy will be three half days August 9-11, from 9 AM until noon. Lunch will not be provided.

The total cost per participant is $75. We will provide equipment if needed.

Great Northwest Running Camp

 

Get the Summer’s Best Training! Our Cross Country Running Camp is right at the start of summer. runners going into grades 6-12 can start their summer training with an unforgettable experience.

Our Advantage: Sisters, Oregon, provides the perfect location for a cross country running camp. Not only is Sisters Country one of the most beautiful places on earth, but within a few miles of town there are spectacular trails ranging from 3,000 to over 6,000 feet elevation, from completely flat to insanely steep. This allows our experienced coaches to provide a fantastic variety of exciting and challenging workouts to fit any runner’s ability level. The camp will feature a variety of workouts tailored to build strength, speed, and endurance with a great balance of high altitude, hills, and flat runs. Our team has a scientific approach to training and understand how to structure the week to include work, rest, recreation, and recovery to give maximum benefit to participants.

Kids watercolor class

Ages: 9-13

Jodi Schneider McNamee an accomplished credentialed art teacher, photographer, author, and journalist, who also has a weekly column, Paw Prints, in The Nugget Newspaper will teach this fun class! Classes will be held at SPRD, which includes all art supplies. Create animal portraits, landscapes, or whatever we choose to paint from photos! There is no need for any drawing experience, the easy technique to transfer your photo to watercolor paper will be taught, so all levels are welcome!!
