Fall Sports

The 5-8 grade boys and girls soccer teams will play in the Bend Parks and Recreation District league. Practice is twice per week beginning in August. This is a large league and registrations MUST be received by June 1st to reserve your space on the team.

Tackle Football

SMS Football 5

Grades: 5/6

Once again this fall we will be offering tackle football for 5/6 graders. We will be in a league with other teams from Central Oregon. Your kids will practice midweek in Sisters and play jamboree style games in surrounding communities on Saturdays.

Registration Deadline: August 14th, 2018

Equipment Fitting: August 18th, 2018

(All equipment excluding cleats are included in your registration fee. It will be checked out and returned at the end of the season.)

Middle school tackle football is a joint operation between the Sisters School District and SPRD. The middle school team plays area teams including Madras, Crook County, Burns, Culver, and La Pine.

Registration Deadline: August 14, 2018 (A $10 late fee will be assessed if registered after September 4th.)

Cross Country Running

Grades: 6-8

(All 7/8 students playing must have a physical on record at SPRD current within two years.)

Sisters Middle School and SPRD partner together for middle school cross country. Meets and practices will be during the week. This is a great way for kids to stay in shape, race competitively with other schools, and create lasting friendships.

Volleyball

Grades: 3-5

Join your friends for a great volleyball season through the Bend Parks and Recreation District Volleyball League. This program emphasizes skill development, maximum participation, sportsmanship, teamwork, and fun. Practices are held during the week and games are on Saturdays in Bend.

Mountain Biking

Join coach Tom Lyons this fall to head out on the trails and learn about SPRD’s pump track. Bring your own bike or use an SPRD bike for the duration of the program. Blazin’ Saddles sponsors this program with discounts on equipment and labor. Be sure to stop by to see how they can help you get ready for the season.

The Central Oregon Basketball Organization plays host to competitive Central Oregon area teams. Make sure to be in touch with school coaches and SPRD officials to stay abreast of when tryouts will be held.

This Sisters Shootout Basketball Tournament is a fundraiser for Sisters Basketball and as such parents are expected to volunteer two hours at the Sisters Shootout Tournaments.

Nordic Skiing

Price: $150 ($220 w/gear rental)

Catch a bus after school to go Nordic skiing! This program is aimed at having fun and learning to ski. Kids will be broken up into skill groups to learn how to classic ski.

*All middle school students are required to take lessons their first year in the program and graduate from the lessons program before they are able to sign-up for Independent Skiing.

MS Americana

The Americana Project will be offering a middle school guitar and singing program through the Sisters Folk Festival this winter. The program focuses on basic guitar skills, appreciation of music, and singing simple songs. The Americana Project is the educational outreach program of the Sisters Folk Festival and has been offering music support in the Sisters School District for 15 years.

Sisters Middle School Track and Field is a fantastic spring sport for aspiring runners, throwers, and jumpers. Learn the fundamentals of the sport and get instruction middle and high school coaches that will help propel your high school career. Teamwork, fundamentals, participation, and experimentation is the name of the game at the middle school track level.
