Graphic Artist Marvin Benson presents Intarsia, a segmented inlay often described as “painting with wood.” It is a method of making pictures of wood where the colors, grains and patterns are carefully chosen to enhance the design. Students will complete 1 project, more if time allows. Supply fee of $20 due to instructor on first day of class

Join us for some wonderful hikes around Central Oregon. We’ll soak up some sun and scenery on these easy to moderate length hikes (between 3-6 miles). This is a great program if you are new to the area, want to get some exercise or just enjoy a day with fellow hikers. Hiking schedule and locations available online at www.sistersrecreation.com

Owing a pet is a huge responsibly. If your dog or cat suddenly stopped breathing or broke a bone would you know what to do? Enroll in this class and learn to provide care for your pet in case of an emergency. You will learn how to perform rescue breathing, treat shock, respond to choking, stop bleeding, splint bones and handle other sudden illnesses including carsickness. Includes a book and DVD to take home.

English Classes for Hispanic Adults
Learn English in small groups for various levels. Classes, books and materials are free. Bring your children - Free childcare is provided. Mondays & Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. beginning October 4, 2010 at SPRD.

Spanish Conversation Group
Everyone is welcome to come practice your Spanish skills at this informal conversation group on Saturdays at Navigator News, 143 East Hood, Sisters beginning September 18. Beginners meet 9:15 to 10:15 and Intermediates meet 10:30 to 11:30. Conversation facilitated by native Spanish speaker Ruth Rincon. $5 donation requested for instructor.
Adult Ski Club
Coming this Winter! We are expanding our partnership with Hoodoo to add adult programs. Join us on Thursdays in January through March for a great day of adult only skiing, transportation to and from the mountain, and some great friends to share the day with. Stay tuned for more information.
