Recreation Leader 2 / Teen Program Coordinator
The SOAR (Sisters Organization for Activities & Recreation)
District is accepting resumes for Recreation Leader 2 / Teen
Program Coordinator to plan, supervise and evaluate the Youth
Development and Leadership Program for middle school (12-15
years) age youth in the SOAR District and to lead various
outdoor recreation programs for ages 7-17.
Primary Duties:
•Work with project partners to plan and implement the
Youth Development and Leadership Program.
•Supervise the SOAR Teen Center.
•Develop and maintain a positive attitude with
participants, general public, staff and volunteers.
•Work closely with program managers to coordinate
programs and resources.
•Supervise staff, contract instructors and
volunteers.
•Monitor program expenditures to remain within
budget.
•Oversee general upkeep and care of equipment and
facilities.
•Meet program outcomes (see attached)
•Purchase supplies when directed.
•Prepare necessary materials and equipment.
•Be responsible for promoting/marketing the program to
participants, project partners and the community.
•Be responsible for reporting as needed to granting
organizations about the program and attainment of program
outcomes.
•Assist with identifying and seeking alternative sources
of funding (grants, in-kind gifts and donations) to support the
program
•Maintain safe environment for participants
•Operate standard office equipment as needed.
•Assist with a variety of clerical duties including, but
not limited to: stuffing and labeling envelopes, assembling
manuals, and preparing items for distribution.
•Perform other job related duties as assigned.
•Supervise Outdoor Recreation trips.
This is a Non-Exempt, Full Time Position, Funded for 2
Years.
Hours are primarily weekdays and occasional weekends.
Starting Wage: $9.45 - $13.45 depending on experience.
Qualified candidates should posses the following:
•Bachelors degree with emphasis in child development,
recreation, education, or related field: and three years of
experience planning developmentally appropriate activities; and
satisfactory training, expertise and experience in the specific
program area or activity for which hired; or any satisfactory
combination of experience and training which demonstrates the
knowledge, skills and ability to perform the above described
duties.
•Current Oregon Drivers License.
•Clean criminal background
•Current First Aid and CPR.
